Another great week.  Attendance was down a bit.  I know several OCN members that came the first week, actually landed a job by the second week.  We always say that we “hope we don’t see you next week…because you landed a job somewhere.”

“The topic was very thought provoking. It reminded me that I really have an opportunity to find a job that I would like to do. Not just to find a ‘job’. I will complete the inventory questions that Larry had provided. Which will be a challenge for me.”

“Even though I have been through 2 layoffs, and am currently employed, always being ready and understanding the job market, and the changing landscape of the employment process is vital. This series is helping me do just that.”

“Thank you Jeff, Larry and Mike for giving your time. Appreciate Larry’s tips. Hearing the positive stats for 2015 Omaha Job Mkt gave me hope. Grateful for Mike’s passion for this ministry and compassion for those of us who are struggling through this part of the journey.”

There were a few suggestions about providing some examples of tough interview questions.  Certainly this is something that can be asked during a session, but the group does cover this throughout the year with other speakers, discussions and we have even done interview role playing during our monthly workshops.

The role playing sessions are some of the best hands-on times during a workshop as not only do you get to answer tough interview questions, you are also judged by the rest of the group on other behaviors that you may or may not realizing you are doing.  These hidden character traits can have a negative or positive impact on the interview.
