Finally I want to thank Mike Familetti, Jeff Quandt, and everyone else involved in Godly Job Search/The Omaha Career Networking Support Group for the help and support given to me over the last seven months. There have been a lot of things that I now do differently with my resume, my use of LinkedIn, how I approach interviews, etc. because of my involvement with this group. And beyond that I appreciate having had a group of people to meet with on a regular basis who are suffering in the same way and that can relate.

I have landed a job! I will be the Marketing and Human Resources Coordinator for Burton A/C, Heating, Plumbing and More. God has greatly blessed me in this. I simply applied for the job online and then applied what I learned from the book What Color is Your Parachute? 2015 edition. Thus, I went into the interview prepared having studied the company and its history. But above all, having done all that I could, God blessed me. I was in the right place at the right time and it was God’s will. But I also strongly feel like if I had not been doing all that I could-applying what I’ve learned at the OCN meetings and everything I’ve studied like the book What Color is Your Parachute?-God would not have given me this job. I also grew a lot from my employment woes and so in a way, I was blessed in that situation also. Burton liked me so much they created the job for me, based on my strengths, skills, and personality. So now I’ll be making more money, in a job that’s a great fit that was designed specifically for me, with full benefits and even a company vehicle! Plus, Burton’s goal is to have me grow and move up and I’ll be working with the company president. And, it’s only 5 minutes from my place. My wife and I are ecstatic. I have accepted an Executive Director position at the Nebraska Enterprise Fund which supports small business growth, development, and expansion. Thanks to everyone who has been a support along the journey and for all the inspiration, encouragement, and prayers.

I accepted a contract to hire position with Professional Source USAStaffing. The position is an office position with Gratton warehouse. It’s day hours and in my pay range. Because they were impressed with my Excel testing scores and the confidence they had in the staffing company and probably my flexibility to start this Thursday, I got the opportunity without having an interview. God gave me the talent and lead me to the right people to help me get this opportunity. HE was in charge. I am thankful for your prayers even though I haven’t made it to a meeting in a few months because of kids activities. I will also recommend it and pray for the ministry. It is with great joy that I am letting you know that I have received a phone offer for a position at Medsynergies. After waiting almost a year I now have a permanent full-time job for more money than I made at my previous one that ended spring of 2013. One question at the interview was about an accomplishment I was proud of. I answered teaching myself sign language. The manager was super excited!! they have an employee there who is deaf and has no one to talk with. That may have sealed the deal. I know this is the place that God had for me all the time . I wanted to follow up and share that I am more gainfully employed after 2 years and 9 months. Since coming to your classes nearly 3 years ago after my job ending…I have worked several part time jobs including PRC which I eventually worked into a ft position…I continued to interview for positions in my areas of experience and interest. I just landed!! I accepted a position with The State of Nebraska working as a Developmental Disabilities Social Services Coordinator with ft great benefits. I am so grateful and have looked back at this journey seeing God’s hand of provision every step of the long way…He used so many people to pray for me, encourage my heart, share truth and gave me the tools I learned in your class to land this job.

I recently came to know about your group after running into Nancy, my wonderful former co-worker at ConAgra. Due to a couple other commitments that popped up, I only had the opportunity to attend one meeting. But I was so impressed with the support from other members and the faith in Him I found there. I only wish I would have known about your ministry early on in my 7-month unemployment journey. Woooohoooo – I landed!!!!! I am employed at Two Men and a Truck as the Operations Assistant – I was looking to get my foot in the door at somewhere I could advance and this is the place…I’m so excited!!! As I start this journey with my new position at Methodist Health System I want to say many thanks to the individuals that I have met to assist me to find employment. Finding myself unemployed was something that I never imagined that I would be facing. GOD slowed me down to show me what was really important in my life. The Career Networking Group has been an enormous blessing for me to be surrounded by individuals that truly are there to help and understand the unemployment journey. Never doubt GOD’s plan because He opens and closes doors according to His plan. Previously discussed in our group was the 5P’s Plan, Prepare, Practice, Polish and Present. I am very excited to announce I landed the Account Manager position with Salem Communications, who happens to manage my favorite radio station – KGBI! Answering God’s call to stay home and raise our 2 children was risky for my career in Marketing. Your help was a sign that God was right there helping me get back. I had a 2 hour interview at Kiewit yesterday… Today, I got a call from the recruiter, offering me the job! … When I hung up the phone, I could not stop praising God! I am so thankful. I appreciate you two as well. There was only a few days I was depressed, but I still kept in God’s word, and it has all worked out. I have accepted a position with Cargill in Blair, NE and started with the team there this week. Through the process God showed me (and my family) that He cares about the details tooJust wanted to let you know as I no longer will need to receive the emails as I won't be attending meetings at this point….but will continue to pray for those going trough transition in their careers.

Just wanted to let you know that I have landed a job doing administrative billing & coding for Great Oaks Counseling. I actually came across the opening when I was on the networking website a few weeks before Christmas. It was a long process but I was hired and have now been there one week. I love it there!! I know this is where God has placed me and that all the ups and downs that I have been through in the past few years has ultimately been due to the fact that he had me make some stops along the way to this job. There were lives I needed to touch before landing where I am suppose to be. I thank God every day for all the blessings and everyone he has brought into my life. He is truly amazing!!! Mike, I wanted to share with you that I have accepted a full time position at UNO. I haven't been able to attend a meeting for awhile, but I wanted to say that OCNSG was extremely helpful to me. I wanted to pass the good news to you and the OCN team. I landed a job with Consolidated Container Company in their Accounts Payable department. Even though I have not been at a meeting for two months due to activities with my children, I have been able to use the knowledge passed onto me during the meetings for my job search and also my interview process. My prayer was to get out of the retail industry and transition back into the business realm and God answered those prayers in a mighty way.
